Oregon's Rustic Furniture Makers

Allen Kallel  At High Desert Woodworks, we create wood art. Nature does the real work, and then we take over. It's hard to say just what makes some trees become freaks of nature, twisting and bending in abstract shape, but it takes hours and countless miles of walking through the woods to find a few branches worthy of becoming one of our beautiful pieces of furniture

Willow Artistree

Willow Set by Dave Dupree exhibiting a fine degree of craftsmanship using fresh willow and mosaic materials. During the process of gathering materials, the artist carefully harvests the willow out in the wild vales and forests of southern Oregon, New Mexico, Colorado, And Utah.

This is the place where houses are planted, chairs are watered, tables are pruned and fences grow taller and stronger as the years sail past.

Steve Benson Family Crests.TOTEM POLES.

We carve your totem pole to either your design, or the Northwest Native American Art form. At the Wood Age we will create a custom made story pole for you that tells something about your family history, a significant event in your life or maybe just your favorite animals for fun. All totems are hand carved and no two totem poles are alike. We use Western Red Cedar to carve your totem pole. Our main objective is to create a heirloom for you that can be passed on for generations to come. Every piece we do is carved from our hearts. Located in Florence, on the Oregon coast.

My rustic furniture is not just furniture it's a works of Art!!

The unique curved design gives a sculpture look with the use of a birch bark, mahogany and aromatic cedar. The interiors are built of solid Tennessee aromatic cedar with precision ball bearing drawer sliders for easy movement and all of our doors are mounted with high quality European cup hinges. All of our drawer pulls are real antler. The tops on all furniture pieces are Honduras mahogany. Some boards are as much as 20 inches wide. The tops of all have a hand rubbed tung oil finish. The exterior is sealed with linseed oil finish giving the birch bark a protective coating. My unique inlay design is made of dogwood twig which is my trade mark.
