Brendan has a drafting design degree and worked in the field of design for five years. During the later years working in the field, he had the opportunity to move to the northern Adirondacks where he became immersed in the rustic aspect of building after buying an unfinished cabin to add character to. After a couple years of building in his spare time he decided to put his focus into a business of rustic furniture full time.
Sapling Rustic Furniture was established in 2004 with the goal to make sturdy authentic Adirondack rustic furniture at an affordable price. Over the past few years, Brendan has refined his products to improve comfort, function, and rustic design. He cuts, processes and kiln dries all his trees to ensure quality finished products. Brendan works with hardwood for making beds table tops, wine bars, and custom cabinetry.
Brendan has a few chair styles including stools, dining, captains, rocking chairs built from steam bent saplings that can be pealed or left with the bark on. Chairs currently can be seated in splint weave, rush , or shaker tape. We hope to offer other seating options in the future.
